Glenn Amico - Cone Credo Book author portrait<br />

Glenn Amico is a photographer and retired NYPD sergeant born and raised in New York City. After serving twenty years and one day with the department, he retired in 2011 and began exploring creative pursuits that allowed him to see the world through a new lens, quite literally.
What began as casual curiosity soon evolved into a full-fledged artistic practice. Inspired by encounters with artists and creatives in New York, Amico found himself drawn to photography as a way of interpreting and celebrating the extraordinary beauty of the everyday. Among his most enduring subjects are traffic cones. He first came to appreciate traffic cones during his police career for their quiet authority and service.

Over time, that appreciation deepened into something more philosophical. Amico’s project Cone Credo unites his sense of humor, empathy, and reflection to share his hard earned observations. To him, the traffic cone is a perfect metaphor: a humble, mature guardian that provides guidance and protection without seeking attention or reward.

Since retiring, Amico’s photographs and collaborative works have been featured in numerous exhibitions across the United States and Europe. Now based in Barcelona, Spain, he spends his days wandering the streets and sunlit corners of the city, camera in hand, continuing his search for beauty in the overlooked and the ordinary.
